Things On Or Around The Moon

Sea Pig is almost done. Some light weathering and wa-lah, fin.

I kinda got down with the space stuff again.... Mainly because using white paint is a challenge for me. I've been meaning to make an out of the box Nue but as I started, I got to thinking about a moon surface variant. So, wa-lah! A Lunaspotter. Name Credit goes to Klav- it came from his mouth first.

Some add on parts from Struschie's resin stash.... thanks, mate!

Since I bashed a Nitto Fliege kit for parts to the Lunapotter, it got me to thinking again! What about a moon surface Fliege variant? What the hell will I do with a Fliege that's missing a stabilizer anyway?

maschinen krieger - Sea Pig With Crater Maker - Pirimed and Base Coat

I'm back to my spray primer from The Army Painter and ready to try exploring new techniques.

1. Gun Metal is the newest addition to the Army Painter colour primer collection and what I've used to kick this study off.

This primer has a nice texture to it which lends itself well to the finished product.

2. Next,  I lay down a coat of Mr Metal for more realistic chipping later. The Mr. Metal provides a nice luster when polished. The point is to build the layers up starting with a good foundation- metal finish. I prefer to use a nice large flat brush to get an even as possible coat down for this step.

maschinen kriger - Sea Pig With Crater Maker

Double fisted Sea Pig with Crater Maker bombs.
Basically, that's it. I'm now pondering a paint scheme.

Recipe for Crater Maker:
- 1/32 wheels from Harrier kit.
- Resin tube
- handle fashioned from brass rod and sprue.
- Resin grebes from Struschie.
