Random Photos of Progress On A8/R8 Recon Suit

After the first coats of paint, I give the model an oil wash. Use a Q-tip to pull the oil off.

With flat dry brush, I pull the rest off and then repeat with Q-Tip. Then again with flat brush. I just work the oil into the paint and seams until I'm satisfied with the look.

After 1st oil wash, add decals. Here, I'm painting over the decal to blend it in more to the surface.

Kow Yokoyama san with Wave will be releasing the Raccoon in October- just in time for my visit to JP! Not only is this a long anticipated and updated re-release of an SF3D classic for those just wanting to build it out of the box, but it offers fans more options to create cool SAFS variations. There are many suit variant possibilities that two hands have to offer.
I'm not the only fella that thinks the pouty lipped doe eyed SAFS pilot looks a hot like Liv Tyler. I hope she makes it into production! Another bonus to the kit- the "fish" decal!
