maschinen krieger - Rainbow Egg Königs Kröte - 1
This kit might as well be considered "vintage" in Ma.K years; it's from WF 2007. The KK is one of Rainbow Egg's biggest resin models. See here for information about future KK releases from Rainbow Egg.

maschinen krieger - Rainbow Egg/ Wave New Fireball- 5. Chips, ink and oil paint.
I'm satisfied with the chipping and overall weathering, so I'm about done with it.
Often I'm asked about weathering and when and where do I begin it. There was a time when I painted the kit up and then weather it with several oil and enamel washes, stains and modulations. Then I started "pre weathering" with oil and enamal washes. Now I begin weathering when I lay down the base or first coat of colour using lacquers and inks. Toward the end I use oil paints (when working with white base colour) and Copic Marker inks, but I don't use them as washes. It's a process and meant to built up the layers.

maschinen krieger - Rainbow Egg/ Wave New Fireball- 3. Large Decals andpaint, top coat
4.The decal is form an 80's Skyhawk kit that I guess I built back when Miami Vice was on NBC on Friday nights. They scream Merc.
I put the larger decals on prior to completing painting. I do this so I can paint up to the edge of the decal for a rough look.
A few more passes with Gaia lacquers and then oil paints which will need time to dry.

maschinen krieger - Rainbow Egg/ Wave New Fireball- 2. paint, base coats.
1. Primed with Army Painters black and Gun metal.
2. Coat of mr colour Dark Iron
3. First coats of Gia Evo red primer and Gia Ma.K anti- flash.
Looks like a white wash. I'm tempted to do a bit more and stop because this part, this look has always been my favorite. I wish I had the guts to stop here.
