Are we there yet?

Roo and Ketzer/ Konrad are getting on my nerves. With only 20 minutes here and 1/2 hour there on the bench, I just wanna finish these up already!

Almost. Almost.

Some mud because his modha was a mudha...

KONRAD/KETZER- A Collaborative- joint covers and wires

I really enjoy working with green stuff for the joint covers over any other product. It's more forgiving when sculpting.

I gave this guy a scope thingy seen on the Dora. It's from a TAMIYA 1/35th WWII US weapons set.

I cut  the barrel down and repositioned the handles.

A job I dislike most is forming the power hoses and I usually do it after painting and at the very end. However, this time I'm doing it now and it is seemingly easier! Go figure....
I find it helps to bend first the copper wire provided and to do both left and right at the same time side by side. Prior to inserting the wire form, paint it black.

KONRAD/KETZER- A Collaborative - pushing along

Pushing along this week.
So, maybe I mentioned earlier in the build that I found I wasn't able to fit the pilot I wanted  with the canopy cover on....

Problem solved.

I hacked away the plastic channels for the armholes on the suit and notched out under the pilots harness.

Made some shoulder armor.

And primed the pilot... But you knew that already.
I used the same colour I noticed Kow uses. Picked it up from one of his modeling books. ;)

And before I called it a night, added a frame around the canopy using styrene strip.

KONRAD/KETZER- A Collaborative- final on engine and sensor

I revised the engine after feedback from friends.

The sensor was also developed from input by Struschie.

Lastly, the bulk head behind the pilots seat back....

KONRAD/KETZER- A Collaborative

The best time was had meeting up with Struschie Ma.K and his team (family). During his visit, we spent time here and there with other Ma.K. Gentledudes which as always is enjoyable.

On his last night here we had a build session that was supposed to be mostly about gluing techniques using different glues for different jobs. I pulled out a Nitto Konrad to use as a sample kit. What was planned to be light and an exchange of techniques soon turned into a collaborative scratch build with Struschie.

So,  the idea is that the engine is exposed like the Dora and Fredric's- so pre-K00L Ketzer engine cover! ;)
Needs some tweaking though...
